Police dogs from across Delaware County and neighboring counties will compete in agility, apprehension and obedience at Haverford Township Middle School on Sunday, Oct. 25.

The 11th annual Delaware County Police K-9 Competition begins at noon on the school's football field at 1701 Darby Road in Havertown, the Daily Times reported. The event is open to the public and runs rain or shine.

T-shirts and raffle tickets will be on sale, with proceeds going to K-9 Hurricane's Heroes, a nonprofit that provides retired law enforcement and military dogs with subsidized veterinary care. The all-volunteer organization said on its website it had helped more than 197 retired working dogs as of 2020. Videon Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is the event sponsor.
