Villanova men's lacrosse will welcome two nationally ranked freshmen this fall, including Berwyn native Parker Smith, who earned his third consecutive appearance on the Nike Lacrosse/Inside Lacrosse top-100 freshman list.

The university announced Aug. 19 that Smith and fellow incoming freshman Devin Paccione both made the final rankings, which evaluate the top 100 incoming freshmen nationally as they arrive on college campuses.

Smith, a midfielder who played at Episcopal Academy in the Inter-Ac league, landed at No. 91. It's his third time on the list. He debuted at No. 70 in 2024, peaked at No. 58 in 2025 and finished at No. 91 in 2026. Smith also competed for club team Team Ten before committing to the Wildcats.

Episcopal Academy's boys lacrosse program, coached by Steve Colfer, competes in the Inter-Ac league.

Paccione, an attacker from Wantagh, N.Y., ranked 81st in his first appearance on the list. The ranking came after a dominant senior season: 43 goals and 45 assists that helped Wantagh High School win its first Long Island title in 24 years, according to Newsday. He earned second-team All-Long Island honors and helped his club team, Team 91 LI Storm, to an 18-6 record while scoring more than 100 high school goals.

The two freshmen join a Villanova program coached by Mike Corrado that went 6-7 overall and 3-2 in Big East play last season, earning the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament. Corrado signed a class of 11 players on National Signing Day in November 2025.

Smith and Paccione are expected on campus for fall practice with the Wildcats.
