Eagle Road in Radnor Township closes between King of Prussia Road and Radnor Street Road for about 10 days starting Tuesday, Sept. 8. Drivers will be rerouted onto a detour that winds through the surrounding neighborhood.

The closure runs through Friday, Sept. 18, to allow private development work on the road, Radnor Township announced on Thursday, Sept. 3. Rockwell Radnor, LLC is performing the construction, according to PennDOT.

The township's notice labels the closure "24/7" in its headline but describes it as running "Monday through Saturday" in the body text. The Daily Times also listed the closure as Monday through Saturday. Whether the road reopens on Sundays during the work period is unclear.

Drivers will be detoured via King of Prussia Road, Upper Gulph Road and Wayne Avenue. Residents and businesses inside the closure zone will keep local access, according to the township.

The closure comes as Villanova University welcomed students back to campus in late August, including to its new Cabrini Campus. That move-in already added traffic to the area, Patch reported. Eastern University also has a presence on Eagle Road, listed among the township's active land development projects.

The road work appears tied to a senior housing development at 1001 Eagle Road called Oak Hill at St. David's. Radnor Township commissioners approved a revised plan in July for a 15-building senior housing project at the site. Commissioner Kunda recused from the vote, according to a Citizen Portal report on the approval. The project is being developed by Rockwell Development Group and would be managed by Vantage Point Retirement, according to the developer's website.

The township advises commuters to expect delays and plan extra travel time through Sept. 18.
