Glanua, an Irish water-infrastructure company, chose Radnor Township over Chicago, Milwaukee and North Carolina for its first U.S. headquarters and plans to hire up to 200 people locally.

The company's selection of Radnor was first reported by the Philadelphia Business Journal on Sept. 24. DELCO.Today reported that Glanua opened a 1,700-square-foot office at Radnor Financial Center in early September with room for 10 to 15 employees. Access to engineering talent at Villanova University and other area colleges helped tip the decision toward the Main Line.

Glanua projects revenue of nearly $285 million in 2026, up 62 percent from $176 million in 2025. Its project backlog tops $1 billion.

Most of the planned 200 positions are in engineering and administrative roles. Reaching that number could take several years.

Karl Zimmerer, Glanua's managing director, said the company sees the U.S. as a growth market.

"We're looking at using [the U.S. office] as a launchpad for a lot of other work on the East Coast and throughout the rest of the U.S.," Zimmerer told DELCO.Today.

The company's U.S. team is already working on projects in Florida, Texas, North Carolina and the Greater Philadelphia area. Glanua designs, builds and operates water treatment facilities for pharmaceutical, food and beverage, municipal and industrial clients.

U.S. Operations Director Mark McKeever became Glanua's first directly employed American hire in early September and the company's 750th employee overall, Patch reported on Sept. 25. McKeever is a chemical engineer with experience in global account management and the life sciences market, according to Water Magazine.

Glanua was founded in Ireland in 2006 as BHSL and rebranded in 2023. The company grew from 545 employees at the end of 2025 to more than 750 by early September 2026. It now operates 10 offices and facilities across Ireland, the United Kingdom, Portugal and the United States.

The Irish government's trade agency, Enterprise Ireland, is supporting Glanua's U.S. expansion. The company is pursuing a five-year plan to reach roughly $450 million in annual revenue by 2028, according to Patch.

Glanua expects its Radnor workforce to reach 50 employees by mid-2027.
