The Haverford Township Music Festival is going forward Saturday, Sept. 26, rain or shine, even as a nor'easter forces cancellations across the Philadelphia region.

The free, daylong festival runs noon to 8 p.m. at Eagle and Darby roads in Havertown. Sixteen artists will perform on two stages, with Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter Shannon McNally, folk-pop musician Wesley Stace (who has also recorded as John Wesley Harding) and country-rock outfit Demolition String Band headlining, according to the festival's official website.

The nor'easter began hitting the region Friday night and is expected to linger through Sunday, WHYY reported. A wind advisory covers Delaware County and surrounding inland areas through 6 a.m. Sunday. The National Weather Service recommends securing loose outdoor items and driving cautiously.

While the festival presses ahead, several other weekend events have not. The South Street Fall Festival, the Bike MS City to Shore Ride and the Philadelphia Marathon KickOff Training Run were among the cancellations, 6abc reported. Eleanor Ingersoll, executive director of the South Street Business District, told 6abc that organizers weighed the safety of businesses, residents and vendors and "had to make the really tough call."

The worst winds are concentrated along the Jersey Shore, where New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill declared a state of emergency across eight counties Friday, Sept. 25, Fox 29 reported. Inland conditions in Delaware County are expected to be breezy with showers.

The 14th annual festival, presented by WXPN, is organized by the Haverford Township Education, Arts and Music Society, known as HTEAMS. This year's main stage has been renamed the Barry Gutman Stage in honor of the late festival board member and press officer, who died in the summer of 2024 and helped expand the event's reach.

Beyond the music, the festival includes food trucks, a kids' zone, a crafters' corner and a beer and wine garden with pay-as-you-go drinks. Admission is free.
