Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart will return to Finneran Pavilion on Sunday, Oct. 4, for Villanova's Nova Nation Tip-Off.
The three New York Knicks starters, all Villanova alumni, helped deliver the franchise's first NBA championship in 53 years in June. Villanova Athletics announced their appearance on Tuesday, Sept. 29. The event is free and open to the public.
It will mark the trio's first visit to campus since winning the title. An autograph session featuring both the men's and women's basketball rosters begins at 6 p.m. The main event starts at 7 p.m.
Brunson won Finals MVP after averaging 32.6 points per game as the Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs in five games, according to Yahoo Sports. The three former Wildcats made up 60 percent of New York's starting lineup during the championship season.
Brunson was the consensus national player of the year in 2017-18. He and Bridges won two NCAA titles, in 2016 and 2018. Hart was the leading scorer on the 2016 championship team. Bridges and Hart each won the Julius Erving Award as the nation's top small forward. All three have had their jerseys retired at Villanova.
Head coach Kevin Willard said in July, at a media availability during Villanova's Summer Jam Open Practice, that the trio's NBA title has elevated the program. "It's everything. It isn't only that they won the championship … it's how they did it," Willard said. "They represented this University so well."
The Knicks open their preseason schedule at Xfinity Mobile Arena against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, Oct. 5, according to Philly Sports Now. Brunson and Hart returned to Finneran Pavilion for the season kickoff a year ago, hosting an episode of their podcast, "the Roommates Show."
The weekend caps a busy stretch for the trio. Brunson hosted the season premiere of "Saturday Night Live" on Sept. 27, with Hart and Bridges joining him onstage during the opening monologue, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
The Nova Nation Tip-Off opens the 2026-27 season for both Villanova basketball programs. The men went 24-9 last season under Willard, earning an NCAA Tournament bid. The women posted a 25-8 record under head coach Denise Dillon and also reached the tournament.
Villanova's men open exhibition play at Rutgers on Sunday, Oct. 11, then host George Mason on Saturday, Oct. 17. The women host FDU in their exhibition on Sunday, Oct. 18.
