Radnor Fire Company sent an engine and command staff to help fight a commercial building fire in Bridgeport on Monday, Sept. 7.

The Wayne-based volunteer company was dispatched just before 5:30 p.m. to assist the Bridgeport Fire Department on DeKalb Pike, according to a post on the fire company's website. Bridgeport is in Montgomery County, making this a cross-county mutual aid response.

Engine 15 responded with a Battalion Chief and crew. The Chief and Assistant 15 followed in command vehicles.

Once on scene, Engine 15 handled water supply operations. The remaining engine crew and the chiefs joined fire suppression efforts, the company said.

Radnor crews stayed for about two and a half hours before Bridgeport Command released them.

The fire company's post did not identify the building, describe the extent of the fire or report any injuries. No public statement from the Bridgeport Fire Department about the fire appeared in public records as of Sept. 8.
