Radnor boys varsity soccer shut out Garnet Valley 3-0 at home Wednesday, Sept. 30, the Raptors' second consecutive shutout and fifth straight win.
The Central League result came two days after Radnor blanked Upper Merion 4-0 on Monday, Sept. 28, also at home. The Raptors have not allowed a goal in either game.
Through Sept. 22, Radnor held a 5-1-2 overall record and sat fourth in the Central League at 2-1-1, according to MaxPreps. The team had scored 20 goals and allowed just three across eight games at that point, already riding a three-game winning streak. The Upper Merion and Garnet Valley results, posted by Radnor's athletics department, push that streak to five.
Wednesday's 3-0 scoreline was the fourth time this season Radnor has won by three or more goals. The Raptors opened the year with a 5-0 win over Franklin Towne on Aug. 29, beat Neshaminy 4-1 on Sept. 1, then topped Springfield 4-1 and Marple Newtown 5-0 in back-to-back games Sept. 19 and Sept. 22 before the Upper Merion and Garnet Valley shutouts closed the month.
Radnor's lone loss came at Penncrest on Sept. 17, a 1-0 defeat. The Raptors also drew 0-0 twice early in the schedule: at Lansdale Catholic on Sept. 4 and against Strath Haven on Sept. 8 in a Central League match.
Garnet Valley, a Central League opponent, entered the game as the visiting team. The Raptors controlled the match from home, though individual goal scorers were not listed in the athletics department's game summary.
Radnor's defensive numbers tell the broader story. Through the first eight games of the season, the Raptors allowed three total goals. They have now posted shutouts in five of their last six contests, dating to the 2-0 win at Owen J. Roberts on Sept. 19.
The Sept. 30 win caps a month in which Radnor went unbeaten in its final four games, outscoring opponents 14-0 over that stretch. The Raptors' next scheduled opponent had not been posted on the athletics department site as of Wednesday.
