An Australian-founded fitness franchise is seeking approvals to open on Lancaster Avenue in Wayne after appearing before Radnor Township's Design Review Board on Wednesday.

Strong Pilates filed two applications reviewed at the board's meeting: one for a wall sign and window graphics at 150 E. Lancaster Ave. (DRB 2026-33), and a second for facade modifications to accommodate venting at 150-168 E. Lancaster Ave. (DRB 2026-34). Both addresses fall within the Wayne Business Overlay District.

The studio would occupy ground-floor commercial space in a mixed-use building that includes 24 luxury apartments above roughly 10,347 square feet of retail and restaurant space, according to a listing by MSC Real Estate. The building sits at the corner of Lancaster and Louella avenues, a high-traffic stretch that sees about 21,386 vehicles per day, per the listing. A public parking lot sits across the street, and shops along North Wayne Avenue are steps away.

Strong Pilates' own website lists the Wayne address as 158 E. Lancaster Ave. and labels the location "Coming Soon." The page was first published on June 10 and last updated on July 9, the day after the DRB hearing. The discrepancy between the DRB filing address and the franchise website likely reflects the building complex spanning multiple suite numbers across 150-168 E. Lancaster Ave.

Founded in 2019 by Michael Ramsey and Mark Armstrong, Strong Pilates offers 45-minute classes combining Pilates reformer work with cardio on a proprietary "Rowformer" machine.

The Design Review Board's next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 12, at 6 p.m.
