Villanova men's lacrosse added a high school All-American to its midfield on Wednesday, announcing the addition of junior transfer Andy Croddick from Colgate University.

Croddick, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound midfielder from Rumson, N.J., brings a decorated prep resume and deep family ties to the Main Line program. Both of his parents, Rachel and John Croddick, are Villanova graduates.

"I grew up a Villanova fan and when Villanova gave me the opportunity, I couldn't say no," Croddick said in the university's announcement.

At Colgate, Croddick played in 16 games over two seasons with the Raiders, recording five points (three goals, two assists), four ground balls and three caused turnovers as a sophomore. He made his collegiate debut at Albany and even played against Villanova during his freshman year.

His high school numbers tell a bigger story. At Rumson-Fair Haven Regional, Croddick was a four-year varsity player who earned All-American, first-team all-state and all-conference honors as a senior. He piled up 120 career points with more than 100 goals, 52 of them in his final season. He also played four years of varsity hockey and was a member of the National Honor Society.

The Croddick family name carries weight in college lacrosse. Andy's brother Ryan earned 2026 USILA Co-First-Team All-American honors and the Co-Ensign Markland Kelly Award as the nation's top Division I goalie at Princeton, according to the Princeton athletics roster page. Ryan helped the Tigers capture the 2026 national championship with a 16-9 victory over Notre Dame on Monday, May 25, and plays in the Premier Lacrosse League. Andy's sister Lily played field hockey at Stanford.

Croddick's arrival adds midfield depth to a Wildcats squad that clinched a Big East Tournament berth with a 16-15 overtime win over Marquette on Saturday, April 18, before falling 14-7 to Providence in the conference semifinals on Wednesday, April 30, at Anderson Stadium.
