Villanova swimmers broke seven pool records at the Villanova Swim Complex on Saturday, Oct. 24, as the women routed Georgetown 201-87 and the men fell 132-167.

The Wildcats won 20 events across both programs, according to Villanova athletics. The women claimed 14 victories and the men six, with Villanova sweeping all four diving events.

The record-setting started in the opening race. The women's 400 Medley Relay team of Alana Leen, Emily Herr, Anna Kilponen and Carlota Colomer Guasch clocked 3:40.05, the third-fastest time in program history. That relay shattered the pool record by 7.24 seconds. Leen's opening backstroke leg of 54.89 set a pool record of its own.

The men's 400 Medley Relay squad of Max Christensen, Hugh Boris, Zach Sutter and Carter Kobielski finished second in 3:18.55, good for sixth on Villanova's all-time list.

Sophomore Emily Herr set the 100 Breaststroke pool record at 1:02.43, a personal best that moved her to sixth on the program's all-time list. She tied coach Laura McGlaughlin's mark on that list. Junior Annie Honkamp then broke the 200 Breaststroke pool record in 2:15.64, also a personal best, leading a Villanova sweep of the event.

Sophomore Anna Kilponen won the 100 Butterfly in a pool-record 54.08, leading another Wildcat sweep. She added a victory in the 200 Butterfly in 1:59.87, trimming her personal best by one-hundredth of a second.

Two seniors accounted for the final pool records. Colomer Guasch swam 23.23 in the 50 Freestyle, and Justin Nowicki posted 3:58.71 in the 400 Individual Medley (IM). Nowicki also clocked 1:46.94 in the 200 Butterfly, the fourth-fastest time in school history. He now owns eight of the 10 fastest times in that event at Villanova.

Boris swept both men's breaststroke events. He won the 200 in 2:01.65 and the 100 in 55.48. His 100 Breaststroke time ranks eighth in school history, matching his BIG EAST Championships preliminary time.

Diver Nate Warson won both men's boards, scoring 327.30 on the one-meter and 367.73 on the three-meter. Michelle Kasulka swept the women's diving events with scores of 258.60 on the three-meter and 249.98 on the one-meter.

The women's team hosts Penn on Nov. 4 at the Villanova Swim Complex. Both teams travel to State College to face Penn State on Nov. 6.
