Tony Dastra sought Pennsylvania’s governorship as a Green Party candidate, but he will not appear on the Nov. 3, 2026, general election ballot.
A Commonwealth Court order filed Aug. 21, 2026 removed Dastra and his lieutenant governor running mate, Craig Bolton. The opinion says Dastra stipulated that the nomination papers lacked the required number of valid signatures and requested removal. The court ruled that Bolton could not remain alone because the two offices are elected jointly.
The official general election ballot listing shows three joint tickets for governor and lieutenant governor: Democrats Josh Shapiro and Austin Davis, Republicans Stacy Garrity and Jason Richey, and Libertarians Ken Krawchuk and John Thomas. Voters cast one vote for both offices. A Commonwealth Court order filed Aug. 21 removed Green Party nominees Tony Dastra and Craig Bolton from the ballot.
Positions during the campaign
Dastra’s campaign website called for stopping new data centers, eliminating working-class property taxes, expanding municipal powers, reducing the gas tax and breaking up healthcare monopolies.
In a May 2026 Green Party campaign release, Dastra advocated public campaign financing and vouchers allowing voters to direct small public contributions to candidates. He argued these policies would increase the influence of small donors and help people run without relying on wealthy contributors.
Correction: An earlier version described Dastra as certified for the November ballot. The court removed Dastra and Bolton on Aug. 21. This profile has been updated to reflect that decision and the current ballot.
