Jason Richey, a Republican attorney from Sewickley, is running for Pennsylvania lieutenant governor alongside gubernatorial nominee Stacy Garrity in the Nov. 3, 2026, general election.

The official general election ballot listing shows three joint tickets for governor and lieutenant governor: Democrats Josh Shapiro and Austin Davis, Republicans Stacy Garrity and Jason Richey, and Libertarians Ken Krawchuk and John Thomas. Voters cast one vote for both offices. A Commonwealth Court order filed Aug. 21 removed Green Party nominees Tony Dastra and Craig Bolton from the ballot.

Experience and education

According to his campaign biography, Richey grew up in Aliquippa and attended Hopewell Area High School. He graduated from Allegheny College with academic honors and was a three-time NCAA Academic All-American wrestler. His campaign says he worked in an Aliquippa steel mill while attending law school.

His K&L Gates biography identifies him as a partner and lists an Allegheny College degree in 1993 and an Ohio State law degree in 1996. His practice includes construction, commercial and energy disputes, government procurement and arbitration.

Richey’s campaign says he founded the Quaker Valley Wrestling Association. He and his wife, Melissa, have three sons, according to the campaign.

Policy priorities

Richey’s campaign identifies restraining spending and taxes, supporting law enforcement, economic growth, government transparency and expanded energy production as priorities.

The Garrity-Richey platform proposes faster energy permitting, utility tax changes, homeowner property tax rebates and audits of state agencies. It also supports Lifeline Scholarships and expanded education tax credit programs.

These are campaign proposals. Their fiscal and economic effects depend on implementation, legislative decisions and other factors.
